Danbury Youth Wrestling Association



DYWA is an organization dedicated to the promotion of area wrestling programs.


PRIMARY SCHOOL PROGRAM

From grades 2 through 5, boys and girls can learn the fundamentals of wrestling and sportsmanship. No youngsters are refused. Weekly sessions include instruction and competitive wrestling based on the age and weight of participants. As individuals develop skills they advance to more competitive levels. The most advanced students in the Primary School Program may wrestle on the travel team and compete on a national basis, attending major recognized tournaments. The program offers scholarships to Wrestling Camps to deserving students. The first practice sessions start the second week of November in local schools. MIDDLE SCHOOL PROGRAM


The Middle School Program is a continuation of the Primary School Program and more competitive. Practice begins the week following Thanksgiving in the Middle Schools. For information call John Nimick (High School Wrestling Coach) days at the Rogers Park Middle School.


HIGH SCHOOL WRESTLING

Danbury High Wrestling is a nationally ranked program boasting of 10 consecutive FCIAC championships. Practice starts the week following Thanksgiving. Contact Coach John Nimick for information at Rogers Park Middle School days.
