University of Connecticut Cooperative Extension System (CES) faculty
provide information and education programs in parenting, youth development/4-H,
money management, consumer education, lead poisoning prevention, community
leadership and home horticulture.
The CES publishes factsheets and publications, some are available for
a fee and some are free. Some publications are available in Spanish-translated
versions. Two newletters are produced by the Bethel CES faculty. "Familyworks",
focuses on parenting, consumer information, and money management; and "Horticultural
Horizons", is for those interested in gardening. Both are available,
free of charge, by writing to the CES.
Master Gardeners are available to answer questions regarding home horticulture,
gardening and insects. The horticultural hotline phone number is 203 797-4376.
Soil test mailers can be obtained, for a fee, from the Bethel Extension
Center.
CES faculty can provide staff development for agencies and community
