Thousands of college grads nationwide
sought by employers on-line

LOS ANGELES, CA (BUSINESS WIRE) - Graduation season is here, and thousands of college seniors nationwide are launching into the U.S. job market, as reported Thursday by JOBTRAK -- the leading on-line job listing service that works with more than 550 colleges and universities nationwide.

JOBTRAK also reported that of the 41,420 jobs listed on its Web-based service, sales and marketing jobs are the most popular, making up 17 percent of the total jobs listed. Job listings include American Express Financial, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, Hilton Hotels and Proctor & Gamble, among others.

This year, more employers than ever are targeting graduates using the Internet. JOBTRAK recently reported a 95 percent increase in the number of jobs listed on its service from 1995 to 1996. And the number continues to grow.

One of the reasons for this phenomenal growth is the increased use of on-line services by college and university career centers locally and nationwide. JOBTRAK began computerizing career centers 10 years ago, and today works directly with on-campus career centers at all Ivy League campuses and more than 550 colleges and universities to target and connect students and alumni with companies nationwide.

When job seekers log onto JOBTRAK's Web site, they can maneuver through areas such as "Resumes," to submit a resume or update an existing one; "Job Search Tips," for helpful hints such as how to negotiate a salary or how to prepare for an interview; "Jobs," where, with a password obtained from their college career center, they can browse through thousands of job listings; "Top Recruiters," for links to business, government and non-profit employers; and "Guide to Graduate Schools," for resources and tips on preparing for graduate school and rankings of the top schools.

More than 290,000 employers have used JOBTRAK to reach the best candidates in a variety of markets for a diverse range of positions.
