BETHLEHEM – An intense dice game among local shepherds was interrupted suddenly last night, as a host of angels blowing trumpets appeared in the skies five miles south of Jerusalem. “We were just sittin’ around the campfire rollin’ dice and tellin’ sheep jokes, when all of a sudden, this here angel come and stood right next to us and he was kinda glowing real bright,” said Reiya, a local shepherd. “We were shakin’ in our sandals, but the angel told us not to be afraid and right then and there were all calm, but excited! ya know?” According to Tshoova, another local shepherd, the angel was sent by God to tell them of “good news and great joy for everyone.” The angel then told them that a savior, which is Christ the Lord, had just been born to them in the city of David. According to other eyewitness reports, the skies suddenly turned bright white when a multitude of angels appeared in the skies over the fields adjoining Bethlehem. The angels praised God saying “glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.” “Yeah, they were just a hootin’ and a hollerin’ and blowing on their trumpets real loud,” added another shepherd who asked not to be identified. “I gotta admit, their excitement was kind of contagious.” The angel that first appeared then told the shepherds to go to Bethlehem and see for themselves, the newborn king. “We all ran as fast as we could and there he was, in an animal feeding trough, wrapped in strips of cloth, just like the angel told us,” said shepherd Aod. “We’re all really excited and we’ve been runnin’ around tellin everybody!” Estimates by local authorities as to the number of angels participating in this event numbered into the thousands, but an exact count was not available at the time this report was filed.  |
